Founded in Whakatāne in 2006, JNP Aviation has grown into a nationwide aviation services provider, delivering reliable, professional airport services and supporting the development of New Zealand’s aviation workforce. With a strong focus on safety, on-time performance and customer satisfaction, the company has built its reputation on a dedicated, experienced team of approximately 150 people who go above and beyond to deliver exceptional service.

JNP Aviation provides a comprehensive range of aviation services, including ground handling, ramp operations, passenger services, cargo management, airport management and transport solutions and training. Its highly trained team works across multiple aircraft types, including fixed-wing aircraft and helicopters, enabling the business to deliver flexible, specialised support to meet the needs of its customers throughout New Zealand.

One of JNP Aviation’s proudest achievements is the establishment of its own aviation training division. Through JNP Aviation Training, the company provides pathways to qualifications and micro-credentials that help aspiring aviation professionals take their first steps into the industry.

Education, empowerment and opportunity are at the heart of JNP Aviation’s approach. The company is passionate about breaking down barriers to entering the aviation industry and showing rangatahi and young students that aviation offers far more career opportunities than many people realise. From ground handling to flight training and emerging areas such as drone technology, JNP Aviation encourages people to explore new possibilities and pursue their ambitions.

Led by Chief Executive Officer Josh Payne, who has extensive aviation knowledge and a genuine passion for teaching, the company believes in sharing expertise, developing talent and empowering its people to grow. This commitment extends throughout its nationwide workforce, with ramp staff encouraged to develop their skills and explore future opportunities, including becoming pilots. The company also places importance on staff wellbeing and work-life balance, recognising that a supported and motivated team is essential to delivering trusted service.

“Aviation is about so much more than people often realise. One of our greatest achievements is creating opportunities for rangatahi to enter the industry, learn new skills and discover what they are capable of. We believe in sharing our knowledge, empowering our team and helping people and businesses grow. When we invest in our people and give them the opportunity to develop, we strengthen not only our own business but the future of aviation in New Zealand.”

Josh Payne | Chief Executive Officer

As JNP Aviation continues to grow, it remains focused on innovation, embracing new technologies and strengthening its position within New Zealand’s aviation industry. Its hands-on leadership, investment in people and commitment to creating opportunities reflect a business that looks beyond the day-to-day operation of aircraft and airports to the future of the industry itself.

For JNP Aviation, trust is built through dependable service, a passionate and capable team, and a genuine commitment to helping people succeed. From its beginnings in Whakatāne to its nationwide operations today, the company continues to set high standards in aviation services while inspiring the next generation of aviation professionals.
