We first saw a couple of houses built by Thorne Group which led to our decision to select them for our design and build. Our house was completed in December 2021. Given the turbulent year that was 2021 Thorne Group delivered our new home on time.
We were consulted the whole way through and nothing was too much trouble, a fantastic achievement. Scott, our Project Manager, could not have been more helpful. Even as the build got nearer to completion and we found ourselves unable to cross the border due to the COVID restrictions, Scott kept in touch by phone and video calls and we were able to be view and make decisions just as though we were on site. One pleasant surprise was the use of the Builders Trend App which allowed us to view photos on a weekly basis and in some cases daily when significant milestones were being met.
Any changes that we wanted to do throughout the project were easily accommodated and met with great advice and assistance.
Thorne Group are very professional and their attention to detail is amazing and we would have no hesitation in recommending them to anyone else.

We are now 3/4 of the way through our first ever build.
Having heard of the nightmares some people experience with their builds, we have been blown away with how Thorne Group has consistently meet deadlines, organised materials and contractors. Their communication has been faultless, with any concerns promptly and professionally dealt with. Clare and Aaron, from the outset, have been superb, as has Shane our project manager.
As the build is right next door, we have noticed how much attention to detail has been made with no corners cut. We will genuinely miss the daily interactions with Shane and builders Roly and Jesse.
We haven’t even finished yet but would love to do it again. Thorne Group will be at the top of the list!

After having watched the development of Urban Ridge over a number of years, I finally left the big smoke and moved into my perfectly formed small home in the lovely suburb. I just adore my 2 bed, 2 bath Thorne Group, 8 year old home. It is the perfect small home for a downsizer. Small but surprisingly spacious and full of wonderful features. A superb design that allows me to get sun all through the day. And I am able to open it up on 3 sides to let the air circulate on those hot summer days. Even though I bought my home secondhand and had no say in the design, there is not much I’d want to change. I love the indoor/outdoor flow. There’s always somewhere to sit inside or out to take advantage of sun or shade. I love love love my new home. An added bonus is my fabulous neighbours. Such a friendly, welcoming community to be a part of. Thorne Group, you rock. Keep doing what you’re doing. It’s fabulous!

Thorne Group were excellent through every step of our design and build journey. We’d never built before and our site was quite complex, so we knew we’d need both design and build expertise. We wanted to enjoy the building process and work with a company where we’d be listened to, thoroughly involved in the process and treated with respect. All roads led to Thorne Group and we’ve been exceedingly happy with the choice we made.

We’ve now been in our new home for just over a month, after a handover that was on the exact date set out in the schedule prepared in September 2021. This was despite the challenging building environment in 2021/2022 and we’re sure is testament to the strong and co-operative relationships they have with their trusted team of sub-trades and suppliers.

Our house is due to be finished in 3 weeks, absolutely loving the whole experience. Their communication is top-notch, especially from Clare and Grant. When looking to build an investment property we had no idea where to start but then a chance walk into the Thorne Groups show home at The lakes made up our minds. We had a tight budget and were starting to think it would not be possible but Clare listened to what we had in mind and we left feeling encouraged. A few meetings later and a house plan decided it was all go. Our project manager Scott was great, all questions answered quickly and nothing too much trouble, we appreciated all the photos sent regularly so we could track progress remotely. The quality of the build and attention to detail has blown us away , we now have a beautiful home we are proud to own. Our home was designed by Thorne Architecture. Jon understood what we were hoping to achieve right away and produced a design that is perfect for us – smart, compact, stylish and practical. As a retired couple and first-time builders, we were amazed at how simple the whole process was. Thorne Group staff guided us as we choose colour schemes, designed the kitchen, attended joinery, electrical walkthrough & landscaping.

During the build, the attention to detail was impressive and more than meet our expectations. The result is an elegant and extremely comfortable home that we helped to create.

After being firmly ensconced in our home for 4 months we feel qualified to put our feeling about our home & the associated process on paper. I thought l knew a bit about building, but now l realise l knew very little, & l will prefer to keep it that way for the rest of my days.
