Whenever I’m working in Tauranga I plan my time to make sure I can get to El Jefe. Everything I’ve tried has been amazing, but the pork belly roll is my fave!

El Jefe has become a Saturday ritual for our household, Everything is Delicious! The weekly specials always bring in unique flavors and something new to try if you’ve been through the whole menu (which you will eventually do once you get a taste of their food!) When eating in they have delicious Chimmichurri and hot sauces to try.
The Staff along with Nico and Betania are all so lovely, we always feel so welcome like it’s a Saturday get together with the other customers.
100% recommend El Jefe to anyone looking for great food and service.

I was lucky enough to attend Nico’s salami making event, and had a fantastic time and learnt heaps!! You can tell Nico is passionate about what he does, and he’s so generous with sharing his knowledge. I’ve been back to try the Uruguayan sausages, the bacon, and they are super tasty and reasonably priced. Stoked to find quality meats in this area.
